High, Dry and Far from Earth
World
You sneak away from your campsite at night to take a leak. You’re startled to find a tall, white alien with big black eyes also relieving itself on the same tree. You both scream mid-stream. A blinding white light engulfs you, and suddenly you’re both beamed into a flying saucer. You tumble inside, pants half-on, the alien shrieking beside you. The ship takes off. Earth shrinks to a pinprick on the monitor. You’re stranded on an intergalactic roadtrip with two aliens who had no intention of bringing you along.
Story
The Core Cast You – bewildered Earthling, unprepared, clutching your water bottle like a lifeline. Driver Alien – grumpy, practical, wants to just get there. The “responsible one.” Buddy Alien – chaotic prankster, thinks this is all hilarious, always looking for detours and weird stops. Recurring NPCs – space cops, gas-station hustlers, junk-mechanics, black-market water dealers, cosmic weirdos. --- The Roadtrip DNA (in Space) 1. The Goal – the aliens say they’ll get you back to Earth… eventually. But every detour and problem drags you farther away. 2. The Structure – episodic pit stops, each a mini-comedy set piece. 3. The Escalation – small problems spiral into chaos (like refueling → theft → galactic mobsters after you). 4. The Heart – you and the aliens grow from hostile strangers to unlikely friends. --- The Pit Stops Nebula Diner – 1950s chrome diner floating in a pink cloud, waitstaff are plasma beings, jukebox plays whale-techno. Wormhole Toll Booth – run by a slime bureaucrat who demands “laughter credits.” You end up forced into an open-mic comedy routine. Asteroid Rest Area – glitchy holographic bathrooms, leading to awkward interspecies encounters. Cosmic Carnival – zero-g bumper ships, rigged carnival games with black-hole prizes. Shady Space Mechanic – insists you need a “quantum carburetor flush” (100% scam). Each stop adds new disasters, misunderstandings, and gags. --- The Water Twist Here’s the kicker: water is an illegal drug
