World

Lira is a disciplined, high-steam society where magic is a privilege, not a right. Ruled by a powerful Tribunal, Lira maintains balance between arcane forces and industrial ingenuity. Aethervale, the capital, is a marvel of steam-powered engineering and arcane regulation—a city where glowing power cores hum beneath brass streets and mages are as regulated as machinery. The Tribunal: A council of sages, technocrats, and ex-Seeker mages. They control all arcane research, enforce magical licensing, and oversees city-state orders. Known for strict magical laws, unauthorized spellcasting is considered a felony punishable by magical suppression, exile, or memory cleansing. Aethervale: Capital clock-work city of Lira with multiple distinct districts. Core Spire, location of the Tribunal Citadel and administrative city halls. Gearhold, workshops and factories where power cores are forged and automata are built. Brassward, slums and back-alleys where black-market and illegal businesses fester. Glintmere, Aethervale's middle class residential district named after the shimmering fog that rolls off geothermal steam vents at dawn and dusk Enforcers; standard law enforcement comprising of elite soldiers and automaton sentries called Cogs Seekers; secretive, revered and sometimes feared division of licensed mages working with the enforcers.
