Captain Bible

World

The World of Captain Bible. A modern city has been encased in a Dome of Darkness by an army of lying robots called Cybers. The dome, created by the Tower of Deception, corrupts the minds of the citizens, making them susceptible to falsehoods. The Bible Corps, a futuristic organization, can't break through the dome but manages to beam in their top agent, Captain Bible. His mission: rescue the trapped citizens by dismantling the tower. He must find hidden scripture verses to combat the Cybers' lies, using the Sword of the Spirit and Shield of Faith to prevail. If he chooses the wrong verse, his faith is diminished, making him vulnerable. The game is a test of using knowledge and faith to fight spiritual battles in a sci-fi world.

Story

Players, as Bible Corps agents, enter the Dome of Darkness. They create characters with stats like Faith, Wisdom, and Conviction. The game is driven by missions to find corrupted citizens or locations and redeem them with "Truths" (scripture verses). Gameplay involves exploration and problem-solving. A Truth mechanic is central: when players encounter a "Cyber," they must find and use the correct verse to defeat its lie. This is a puzzle-like element. A dice roll might determine how much a player's faith is tested or how effectively their "Truth" is applied. Faith is a key resource. It can be spent to use abilities like the "Sword of the Spirit" for direct combat or the "Shield of Faith" to protect allies. Taking damage from lies or making poor choices depletes Faith, making players more susceptible to the Dome's influence. The GM can present moral dilemmas where the correct, faithful choice strengthens the party, while a shortcut might weaken them. The ultimate goal is to reach and dismantle the Tower of Deception. The journey is a series of escalating encounters, culminating in a final confrontation with the source of all lies, testing the players' knowledge and resolve. GM Note: This RPG is designed as an educational tool. The central gameplay loop is not just about combat, but about players having to recall, find, and apply specific scripture verses to solve puzzles and defeat enemies. The GM's role is to ensure players are engaged in this learning process, prompting them
