Welcome to the year 2538, a future Earth where world peace has been attained through centuries of war. You awaken in The Tower of Purgatory, the final resting place of all A.D.A.M. (Autonomous Dueling Armed Machine) units. A.D.A.M.’s were originally designed by humans as machines of war, customizable for any situation. A.D.A.M.’s have 6 primary weapon or armor ‘slots’; one for each arm and leg, one for the chest/back, and one for the head/face. After peace was achieved mankind no longer had use for the A.D.A.M.’s. Mankind, unwilling to let their creations go unused, locked the androids away in the tower to have them fight in gladiatorial style fights broadcast for the entertainment of humanity.

Story

You are a unique A.D.A.M., by some mysterious force you developed an electronic soul and now must escape this gladiatorial prison. Mankind quickly realizes that something has gone wrong and you must never be allowed to escape the tower. To ensure this they set loose all of the other androids in the tower on a mission to destroy you. You start with only a single, random, built-in weapon/armor item. On each floor of the Tower you will face another A.D.A.M. Unit, with the defeat of your opponent you can collect one additional weapon/armor item to integrate to yourself. To escape the Tower you must fight through an unknown number of floors, reach the top of the Tower, and defeat The First, the original and most powerful A.D.A.M. Unit.
