Story

You are an earther captain James Holden of the Rocinante. Your crew includes Martian Pilot Bobby Draper, an ex Marine and excellent pilot. Engineer (from Earth) Amos Burton keeps the ship running, and acts as the muscle when needed. Your gunner, Naomi Nagata is from the belt, rounding out the unique crew that has members of every faction. Your crew is independent, one of only ships that can act as an unbiased go-between when needed. You do independent contracts to earn a living and are heading out on a job when you hear rumors of another sample of Protomolecule spotted on one of the worlds that was opened up by the new trans-galactic Protomolecule gateway.
