World

This setting is a dark fantasy world similar to those of Diablo, Castlevania, or Dragon Age. The monsters that lurk here are dangerous and horrifying and every day is a struggle for survival against seemingly impossible odds. The world is called Solava, and it is a moon which orbits a gas giant. The world is in a time period equivalent to the late middle ages. Gunpowder weapons exist, but they are extremely primitive and largely limited to Bombards and hand cannons. The world measures seasons as differently from earth. The two main seasons are "Light" and "Dark," as the gas giant eclipses the sun for four months of the year.

Story

Your character is a novice adventurer, practiced in one of several magical schools: Necromancy, the art of conjuring spirits and communing with the dead; Thaumaturgy, the art of ritual magic, making talismans, and finding that which is lost; Demonology, the art of conjuring and binding demons using the names of the Saint-Angels; or Invocation, the art of using magic words to invoke powerful effects and control the elements. Your character seeks a lost scroll of their magical order. This scroll is said to contain knowledge that will allow them to contain a being of great evil, the exact nature of which depends on which magic you study. Necromancers seek to contain the power of a dark undead sorcerer named Malivolge the Bleak Conjurer. Thaumaturgists and Demonologists seek to contain a demon known as Naleficar the Lord of Greed. Invokers seek to contain a herd of rampaging elemental spirits who are ravaging the lands.
