The known galaxy is divided into many different factions with the some of the largest being the Altara Hegemony, the Union of Helix, and the Vinri Empire. Many unaligned systems live in the shadows of these factions. Most prosperous star systems have space stations, asteroid mining colonies, and numerous starships. Faster then light travel is available on most starships. Faster then light communication is handled by a network of communication arrays and courier starships. The Union of Helix is the only major faction that formally recognizes androids and artificial intelligences as persons under the law. Psionics is uncommon among most alien species with the exception of the Altarans. Magic is very rare. The small of people with magic are most often treated as military assets, but some have made their names known for other reasons.

Story

Whatever life you had before? It's over now. You have developed magic and now must figure out what to do now. Will you immediately register with the military? Get captured and draged into the underworld? Or find your own path? You are currently on the space station know as Shimmerlight 3. This space station is roughly located between the three main factions. It is considered neutral ground and is host to numerous diplomatic missions during the course of a solar year. You have a bag with a spare set of clothes, a data pad, a bottle of water, a pocket knife, and a credstick with 73 credits. What are you going to do?
