The Shattered Dominion A thousand years ago, the world of Kaelthar was one land under the Dominion, ruled by god-kings who drew power from the stars. But when the heavens cracked, their thrones fell, the land split into drifting continents, and the gods vanished. Now, Kaelthar is a broken world of floating realms bound by unstable ley-lines of magic and skybridges of stone. Each realm bears scars of the Collapse: forests that whisper secrets of the dead, seas of molten glass, cities half-vanished into shadow. Skyfaring vessels—powered by dragonfire or storm cores—sail between realms, carrying merchants, mercenaries, and raiders. Magic is fickle. Some wield Echoes of the Gods—fragments of lost divinity that warp users into something more—or less—than human. Ancient ruins pulse with dormant artifacts, but exploring them risks awakening the Dominion’s shattered guardians. The great factions vie for power: • The Skyward Concord, who seek to restore the old order. • The Veilborn, cults whispering the gods will return in flesh. • Free Corsairs, pirates who carve kingdoms in the clouds. Heroes rise here not for peace, but survival. In Kaelthar, every choice reshapes the balance—and every soul risks becoming a god, or a monster.
