a post apocalyptic earth where the apocalypse unleashed dark magic and caused electricity and gunpowder to stop working. the last survivors from before the apocalypse are dying off, and are revered as seers. various warlords - some under the influence of dark magic - rule most of the world. must of the world has been reclaimed by forest and wilderness as there are much fewer humans. some forests are dark and twisted, and evil monsters stalk the night. you belong to a people who - although human - are referred to as elves after the old fantasy stories. they live in forest cities and hunt with bows and arrows, and are also skilled sword fighters. they stand up against evil when they can.

Story

the story will build towards a big final battle between good and evil. towards the start of the story, you discover a source of good magic, or it discovers you. you must grow and nurture it, and learn how to use it. there is a slow-burn romance with someone (the player determines their own gender and what gender they are attracted to) who initially hates you and vice versa, but after being trapped in a survival situation partway through the story, you develop a mutual respect and even friendship. eventually, slowly, romance will blossom.
