Elemental Wardrobe: Ashen Weave In its grandstanding eras long ago, the land of Krespo was a vibrant and sprawling landscape bustling in trade and commerce, tomes brimming with lustrous magic and alchemy, and the diverse accumulation of every race known to the realm. At the eastern edge of the landscape, stands a mass of mountains called the Paladin's Promise. Facing inland, looming and regal in its grandeur, stands Mount Aelun, a solitary colossus of stone towering ten times the height of all other mountains. Nestled in its stone roots, the Sel Keep, the long held capitol of Krespo, and each race's diplomatic residence climbing higher and higher, adorning the face with many outcropping of citadels, towers, and holds, all of which pale in comparison to the regalia of the Sel Keep. This was the notoriety of Krespo in its height. Then, one fateless morning, a subterranean tremble echoed through the land. Few in Sel took alarm to it, and fewer still as the rumble spread wholly through the land. Suddenly, a bright flash of searing light, shone across the quiet realm, piercing even through the clouds far below, and a blast of dense black smoke burst through the peak of the mountain. Mount Aelun had erupted. The encumbent shroud of smoke and ash slowly filled the brisk morning sky, and after many long hours of ever dimming light, ash began to fall in every open corner of the landscape. This was the unforeseen doom of the hearts and minds of the Krespian kingdom and its cohorts.
Story
The Tainted One, an ancient sorcerer from a long forgotten time before the Covering awakens from a magic-induced slumber a millennia after his original time, finding himself emerging from a thick blanket of ash covering the land, the knowledge of everything, where he is, who he is or was, nor when he, eludes him. Ashen Weave is the story of The Tainted One as he traverses the dark forboding sea of ash and waste to find any semblance of memory about his missing identity. The story is themed, and appropriately titled around a magical item adorned upon his figure: the Ashen Cloak, a mystical garment forged by the prowess of time and imbued with the essence of the ash that blankets the land. The fabric wisps with a faint, ethereal movement, as if floating in a light deadly breeze. Its ashen threads were slowly interwoven with the very magic that entrenched The Tainted One from the grasp of death. The cloak's enchantment allows the wearer to blend seamlessly into the ash-covered environment, granting them the ability to move invisibly in the dimmest of lighting or in ashen landscapes. As The Tainted One stands, stretching his long-still limbs and stares into the barren forest of leaf-less half burned trees and an endless bounding sea of grey ash.
