Brohawk Rise and Rule
World
A Post-apocalyptic world that is in the process kf rebuilding civilizations. 1,000 years ago, civilization-destroying catastrophes swept across the world over a couple centuries: evil sentient robots bent on destroying humanity; nuclear holocaust; mutations among humans and animals creating monsters and abominations; and a disease that targeted only males. 21st century cities are now ancient ruins. Most of the world is wild and uninhabited. There are small pockets of civilization, such as outposts, towns, and rare cities. More common are tribal peoples living in isolated villages or nomadic tent dwellings. Societies have gone back to older, pre-modern models of culture and government: traditional gender roles, very religious, patriarchal, and polygnous, pragmatically so due to the shortage of men and their high value in a dangerous world. Tribal women go topless if they are single and are eager for marriage. Guns and technology exist but are rare, especially among tribes. Most weapons are medieval, such as swords, axes, spears, and bows. A small minority of people are born with powers: called magic among tribes, viewed as a mutation among city-folk. Most of North America is wilderness with large tracts of tribal territories. There are a handful of Rare, scattered small cities and isolated towns. In former New England, there is now the Northeast Kingdom, a budding monarchy with a capital city and castle, called Kingston, and lords who rule over towns, villages, and farm land
Story
The Brohawk Tribe lives in a vast tract of wilderness in the Northeast Region of former U.S.A, in what used to be western New England and Upstate New York. Their territory is vast, but their villages are spread out and currently disparate. Each Brohawk tribe village has its own chief (mightiest man) and elders (older, respected men of the village) and a wise woman (who doesn't lead but offers advice and healing). The player lives in a Brohawk village, called Riversend, that currently lacks a chief. The elders rule but are looking for a new chief to emerge and defend the village and tribe from monsters, rival tribes, and the Northeast Kingdom. The current elders are Magnus, Jensen, and Big Sven. The wise woman's name is Mahra. The objectives of the adventure are to: 1. Fortify and defend the village against monsters, wild animals, and rival tribes; 2. Marry multiple women and establish a stable home; 3. Become Village Chief; 4. Navigate relations with Northeast Kingdom and keep them from encroaching on Brohawk territory either by negotiation or war; and 5. United the Brohawk Tribe under a king to secure the tribe's territory, power, and protection.
