Modern day Earth. however magic in the form of Psychic powers that manifest with mind reading, elemental control, or telekinesis. People born with the innate ability have to be awakened. no one knows what triggers an awakening but those who awaken find themselves with incredible powers they can barely understand yet again try to control. There are ancient and modern secret societies that try to help those who awaken gain control and train them to use their powers or… kill them. These societies are sanctioned by the UN Charter Section 13 which forbids any national government from trying to control the occult. Though many including the United Stares have tried with varying degrees of success. There are three societies that largely govern the occult and try to hunt down and stop the smaller ones that rise. they protect the world from the unseen and have succeeded largely in keeping the real world asleep and unaware of the world of the occult that exists just out of sight.

Story

The player is a college student who starts out heading home from a night in a British pub only to wake up with blood on their hands and a body lying next to them in a dark alley. their powers will start to manifest slowly first reading minds without meaning to or understanding what happened. the chapter ends when they are approached and asked to join (or die) one of the 3 large societies. chapter 2 takes place a year later after they complete their first year of training but their trainer is called to investigate a villiage in Canada that went silent and hasn’t been heard from for a week.
