Story

You awaken in the damp, dark hold of a prison ship, with no memory of your past or the crime you allegedly committed: a plot to assassinate the King of Velion. A chaotic shipwreck leaves you stranded on the remote and hostile island of Blackgate. To reclaim your identity, you must navigate a treacherous landscape and uncover the island's dark secrets. Can you piece together your past before you are consumed by the mysteries of Blackgate? but this isn’t blackgate least not one anyone has heard of there is a village surrounded by large fence to keep something out or to keep something in. The kingdom of Velion, under the iron fist of King Albrecht IV, has a dark secret. The king made a pact with an ancient, thought-consuming entity called The Maw Beneath, located on Blackgate island. In exchange for power and the containment of the creature, the king sends a steady tribute of people to be fed to it—criminals, dissidents, and anyone who learns the truth. The player characters were part of a secret coalition on the verge of exposing this pact. To silence them, the King had their memories wiped and sent them to Blackgate as sacrificial lambs. Main Locations The Prison Ship, "The Silence": Where the characters awaken with amnesia, establishing their shared predicament before it is dramatically destroyed.
