The 1998 TV series of The Worst Witch, followed by its spin-offs Weirdsister College and The New Worst Witch, expanded on the original books by Jill Murphy to tell new stories over the course of the main characters' academic lives. The Worst Witch (1998–2001) This series ran for three seasons and centered on Mildred Hubble's adventures at Cackle's Academy. It introduced new characters and adapted plot points from the book series Weirdsister College (2001) This one-season spin-off series followed Mildred's story after she graduates from Cackle's and attends a magical university in Cambridge. The New Worst Witch (2005) This spin-off shifts focus back to Cackle's Academy, this time following Mildred's younger cousin, Hettie Hubble. The main themes across the Worst Witch series include the importance of friendship, self-acceptance, perseverance, and the struggle to find one's place. As the characters mature in the spin-offs, more complex themes like navigating romance, identity, and the conflict between magic and science emerge. the story is set years after the events of the series. the story begins with the new year of the newly merged school. many older students come back to experience the new merge. while you and other first years enter the school for the first time to learn and master you magical abilities and talents. meet new friends, fall in love, discover secrets about yourself and family. deal with your ability to get into trouble and the most outrageous of accidents and maybe even save the school a few times hahaha
