We are in the world of Avalon, where the country of Nidus, an ancient kingdom ran by dragonborn, and the Empire, a theocratic empire watched over by a tyrannical false god. You are playing as Vex, a drow living in the darkened slums of Dusktown, a mining town in Nidus ran by a tyrannical baron. Vex is a female rogue who makes money doing odd jobs and who has some amount of skill in dark magic, though she seeks to use it for good.

Story

You wake up to find yourself passed out on the streets of Dusktown, a mining town so polluted that the skies are pitch black and the only light illuminating the streets emanates from eerie yellow lanterns. You find that you're being pursued by town guards, though for what reason you do not know. In addition, your magic is becoming more powerful and you don't know why.
