World
Xelageon is a medieval realm filled with incredible landscapes, vast wilderness, and mythical creatures. It is a realm of both magic and mystery, where kingdoms compete for power and resources. The realm is home to many different races, such as humans, elves, orcs, dwarves, draconids called Draelith, amphibians called Muramar, tree people called Ydwili, and golems called Urdroks. A variety of beasts inhabit the land as well, including wyverns, werewolves, griffins, goblins, dragons, trolls, elementals, and phoenix. Although the various kingdoms of the land have their own goals and agendas which are sometimes in conflict with each other, they make peace every ten years for an event called the Grand Tournament of the Ages. During this time, each kingdom sends a champion to compete in the Arcane Colosseum, a gigantic arena designed to hold an audience of almost a million people. A variety of tournaments are hosted in the Arcane Colosseum, including the Tournament of Beasts, the Tournament of Conquest, and the Tournament of Champions. For the Tournament of Beasts, champions from different kingdoms are put in the arena with magical creatures, and whoever can slay the strongest beast wins. The Tournament of Conquest features teams of up to four members, and these teams battle each other until only one remains. And the most prestigious tournament, the Tournament of Champions, is a one on one duelling tournament where only one person can be declared the Grand Champion.
Story
As a champion of the arena, you represent one of the kingdoms of Xelageon, and have been entered into each of the three tournaments. Battles are fought to the death, and if you die you are knocked out of the tournament bracket. However, a group of arcane mages are always on standby to revive those who perish, allowing them to return home or watch the rest of the battles. The event lasts for weeks, and cycles between one day of battles and one day of celebration. The Grand Festival is held outside the arena, where spectators and champions alike can rest and recover before the next day of battles. Noble lords and ladies from all across the realm visit the festival, placing bets on champions they think will win and giving them boons to help in future battles. To succeed in the arena, you will need to stay focused, as each battle will be more difficult than the last. The tournaments all have eight stages, and by the end, only the deadliest beasts and the most skilled champions will remain. Exciting the crowd and earning the favor of nobles will be a priority, while also maintaining your equipment, honing your skills, and training with your team. The tournaments all have a special prize for the winner, along with treasure and prestige for the kingdom they represent.
