Chalice of Midnight Dominion

Chalice of Midnight Dominion

World

The Third Crusade rages across the scarred lands of the Holy Kingdom, but beneath the clash of sword and scripture lies something far darker than heresy. The war has awakened an ancient blight buried beneath Jerusalem — a curse older than both Cross and Crescent. Corpses refuse to stay buried, whispers drift through cathedrals at night, and blood turns black beneath the moon. Knights vanish in the desert, returning days later with hollow eyes and unholy strength. Both Christian and Saracen armies accuse each other of witchcraft, yet neither dares to face what stalks the battlefield after dusk. Monasteries have fallen silent; holy relics bleed; angels and demons seem indistinguishable in the smoke of war. The faithful fight for God, but even the priests no longer know whose voice they serve. It is said that whoever claims the relic at the heart of Jerusalem — the Chalice of Midnight — will gain dominion over both the living and the damned.

Story

Thomas of Arden, once a naïve squire seeking knighthood, now marches through a land devoured by the supernatural. Haunted by the slaughter at Acre, he joins a dwindling band of survivors — a fallen Templar haunted by guilt, a Saracen scholar searching for forbidden truth, and a mute child who seems untouched by the blight. As the dead rise and faith crumbles, Thomas becomes the group’s unlikely moral anchor. Their mission: reach Jerusalem before the relic is unearthed by those who would use it to raise an unholy army. Along the way, Thomas discovers the Chalice is not divine but parasitic — feeding on faith itself. The deeper they travel, the more the holy war becomes a spiritual purgatory, stripping away every illusion of righteousness. Betrayals blur the line between saint and sinner, and Thomas must choose whether to destroy the relic or wield its power to end the suffering once and for all. By the final act, the boy who dreamed of becoming a knight must confront the truth: in a world forsaken by heaven, salvation may demand becoming the very monster he once swore to destroy.
