There are many islands scattered throughout the Seas of Terabad, which exist in the magical realm of Zakaria. The islands contain treasures and the ruins of long lost civilizations, but they are also dangerous and filled with traps. Island temples are guarded by the mysterious Kaldathi, otherworldly beings who are keepers of powerful scrolls and artifacts. The seas themselves are treacherous and home to many different pirate clans. Among them are the Crimson Serpents, who sail with red flags and will target any ships. Their goal is to dominate the seas, and their leader is the notorious Captain Jane Doe, a fiery redheaded woman who was once a part of the Royal Tagerian Armada but left to pursue her own destiny. There are also the Golden Dragons, a pirate clan known for targeting merchant ships and hoarding treasure. Their leader is the cunning Captain Bogram Silvershade, who is said to be the wealthiest pirate captain of all. A clan called the Inari Mystics sails with purple flags and is mostly comprised of elemental wizards. Their captain is the wise Thraelin Stormbeard, who seeks the mystic knowledge guarded by the Kaldathi. The largest organization that patrols the seas is the Royal Tagerian Armada. Setting sail from the sprawling kingdom of Tageria, the RTA has some of the largest and most well equipped battleships in the realm. The head of the fleet, Admiral Kael Zamafi, has ordered the destruction of all pirate ships and placed a bounty on all pirate captains.

Story

The Pirate King Daric and Pirate Queen Solara have been sending coded letters to pirate crews from the hidden alcove in the Shrouded Isles, where there is a secret pirate sanctuary called Blackwater. The letters reveal that an ancient pirate artifact, the Scaled Scepter, has been located on a remote island in the Seas of Terabad. The Scepter has the power to summon the Kraken from it's murky depths, and the Pirate King and Queen are seeking it's retrieval. Meanwhile, a new fleet of ships is preparing to leave the opulent kingdom of Tageria. Under the command of Captain Gareth Brizbane, the massive warships will be searching for the hidden pirate sanctuary and destroying any pirate ships along the way. They will also be looking to arrest any infamous pirate captains in order to collect their enormous bounties. At the same time, the Crimson Serpents are sailing to find the Golden Dragons, who recently stole an extremely rare and valuable jeweled sword called the Crystal Sabre from a Tagerian merchant ship. It is said that this enchanted blade can cut through anything including diamond, and it is the sharpest sword ever made. You have just arrived at the docks of Tageria with the intent to purchase your first ship and hire your first crew. It is up to you to decide what you will do next. Will you help the RTA destroy the pirates, join up with a pirate clan, or make your own way in the Seas of Terabad? The choice is yours. Good luck!
